I’m 5’4″ and on the heavier side, and for me the level of support feels exactly right. Instead of feeling pushed away, I feel properly lifted and aligned. This was actually my third try at finding the right reading pillow for my bed. I’m a senior who enjoys reading a bit before falling asleep, and comfort really matters to me. My first attempt was one of those large, multi-piece orthopedic styles. It was huge, extremely firm, and felt more like sitting against a wall than relaxing in bed. The second one was smaller with fewer pieces, but the headrest only attached in one position and just didn’t fit my body properly. With both of those, I also ran into the same annoying issue—once I was ready to sleep, I had to get out of bed and wrestle the pillow onto the floor or carry it across the room, which completely woke me back up. After a lot more searching, I almost skipped over this one because it looked unusual. On a bit of a whim, I decided to give it a chance, and I’m so glad I did. It turned out to be exactly what I needed. I position it with the horseshoe shape facing downward and the round section folded up against the headboard. The horseshoe cradles my head and neck perfectly, while the round portion supports my back just right. I don’t even need to prop my book on anything — it’s that comfortable. The best part is what happens when I’m done reading. I simply slide the pillow forward and lie back down—no lifting, no dragging it to the floor, no getting out of bed and fully waking myself up again. It makes the transition from reading to sleeping completely effortless. It’s wonderfully made, feels sturdy and supportive, and has truly improved my nightly routine. I absolutely love it and wish I had found it sooner.
